“I can never settle for just great movement or technique. I always want more… more for the audience to be completely entertained!”

Ann Terschl-Kurokawa is the founder and director of the "Picture Us Different Dance Studio, Inc." and the "Picture Us Different Dance Company," performing throughout the U.S. with what she is best known for - her unique style of dance and choreography!

You may have seen Ann previously in commercials and promotions for the Chicago Bulls when she was a "LUV-A-BULL" (Chicago Bulls cheerleader). While with the LUV-A-BULLS, Ann performed in and out of the country and also choreographed for the team. She then became sole choreographer for the Chicago Wolves Dancers from the Chicago Wolves IHL Hockey Team. She performed with and choreographed for the Wolves Dancers not only at the Rosemont Horizon, but at various promotional events, charity benefits, and sporting shows. Ann was asked back by the LUV-A-BULLS to be the head choreographer to start their 1999-2000 season, but fortunately for us she declined due to the demand of running her business! More recently, she was a head judge for the 2011 LUV-A-BULL audition, and continues to work with the organization as much as possible.

Ann attended Northeastern Illinois University where she received a full dance scholarship for four years. Her main dance training comes from various members of the Hubbard Street Dance Company, focusing on Tap, Lyrical Ballet, Classical Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop and Modern dance. She performed with various artists from the Hubbard Street Dance Company, AM/FM Future Movement with Lane Alexander and Kelly Michaels, Venetia Stifler's Concert Dance, Inc. (in honor of Ruth Page), and was dancer/choreographer for pop acts Jamie Loring and The Rebel Youth Mob. She was also the lead dancer/choreographer for a "Weird Al" Yankovic tour!

Ann has been teaching and choreographing since the age of twelve, and is so proud of all her famous alumni students such as Jennifer Morrison of "House" and “Once Upon a Time” and many others pursuing dance and acting careers. She has taught master classes and choreographed for Northeastern Illinois University's scholarship students, and also served as dance director at both Good Counsel High School and Montay College. Presently, she teaches at various Chicago-land grammar and high schools, bringing the art of dance into an educational atmosphere by incorporating dance as part of the curriculum. Ann also works with many inner-city schools throughout the year, where she sets up performances for Picture Us Different Jr. Company & Company members, always encouraging a love for dance!

Ann has won a number of outstanding choreography awards and has been coaching aspiring Miss America participants in dance for years. She was asked to come aboard the teaching staff at the L.A. Dance Academy, where she received many scholarships to attend. She also recorded a hit single "It's Whatcha Got" which was used by the National Dance/Cheerleading Association. Ann was crowned Miss Arlington Heights in 1989, and has modeled throughout the years for various photographers and catalogs.

Ann was a guest teacher/choreographer for Ruby Turan's Dancerfest Convention in Indiana, and she also traveled with them to Mexico as a guest artist. Ann, along with the PUD Dance Company, has been the entertainment for the "TOTAL FITNESS/BODY SHAPING" competition, as well as other benefits and functions each year. Ann was also the Dance Captain for the XFL'S "Chicago Enforcer Dancers" during their 2001 season. Now she can add Soldier Field to her list of old stomping grounds!

Ann’s philosophy holds true to her style: "To develop the unique quality in each dancer as an individual. This in return develops the person, and that creates not only a successful entertainer, but someone who will succeed in whatever avenue they choose!"
